SolHuma / Vital Grill wood

Hey all. Has anyone ever used the SolHuma Vital Grill wood blocks for smoking? I found some at Rona and the price was great ($10 for ten pounds), but I can't find any information about whether the wood is treated with chemicals (i.e., whether it's truly food-grade wood). A few of the pieces looked sanded down quite nicely with rounded corners, almost as if they were construction rejects.

Link to the product is below. Any thoughts?

The pieces look like they are scraps from a furniture shop/manufacturer. Those are normally untreated raw wood. I sometimes make furniture in the garage and I used some white Oak scraps in my smoker. Worked great. Maple is great smoke wood and I see no reason not to use it.
