TVWBB Wizard
Hi, my name is Rich and I'm really not new to TVWBB. In one of my last contributions here last year ( http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?41363-Recipe-and-Pic-Paradise ) I explained why I had been away for a while back then. Within days, things got even more difficult and let's just say that I dropped out of all forums for an extended time and have been working extremely hard to help get our lives back together. Fortunately, my wife and I are in basically decent health, we've been able to put most of the "vicissitudes of life" (I love that phrase) behind us and I'm trying to at least get back into touch with forums. Despite everything (or maybe as a crutch because of it, I have not stopped grilling and smoking to any significant extent throughout this time away.
So as a "near-newbie" I'll say that essentially I feel like I have a lot of skill and experience by having cooked at least 4 to 5 days a week with my Weber Genesis EP-330 and my Weber Smoky Mountain Cooker -- mostly over the past six years and honed with the help of the good people here at TVWB, at the BBQ Source Forums and even the NC Woodworker forums. Earlier this year, my wife and I took a long trip to AZ, UT, and CO (part of the "life rehab" and I found myself grilling on strange and lesser grills, but fortunately the skills the good folks here helped me gain held up and I made no bad meals.
So "hey" again to those who may remember me and "hi" to all the true TVWB newbies. My first return post will be about today's planned salmon on a plank. I haven't done that in a really long time.
