Soda Can Chicken

I had a couple of small whole chickens in the freezer, a 12 pack of wild cherry Pepsi in the fridge, and, um, hunger. Just kidding. Anyways, conditions here were just right to do some grilling. I fired up the OTG and did a soda can chicken with peach wood chips for smoke.
OTG and smoke
Holding temp. Probably wrong but that's OK too.
22 minutes in. Good color, I thought.
Took about 50 minutes to an hour total.
Taken off and allowed to rest.
Homemade garlic toast on. Didn't want to waste the heat.
Plated with leftover mac and cheese and garlic toast.
This was a good meal, all in all. The chicken was moist and flavorful, having been injected with butter and Chef Merito's. The skin was seasoned the same. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend.

That chicken and all looks delicious. Hows the taste using soda versus beer on the chicken

Craig, it was just a can half full of water and a bunch of aromatics. I used lemon juice, smashed garlic, sage, rosemary, and thyme. I never made this before today because I don't drink anymore. More than flavoring the meat, I just used the can to tenderize.

Cool thanks, I was telling the other half before I read this and she was thinking the soda might make it rather sweet
