SNS kettle chicken quarters

Beautiful fall day here in Southwestern Ohio after a long past week of rain. Decided to make some chicken quarters for dinner this evening. Using Kingsford original briquettes with chunks of cherry wood. Running the kettle @ 300°. Rubbed down with some store bought rub and on they went!

Chicken takes on smoke easy. Looks like your wood placement is the issue. Kettle or wsm I always have wood where I start the lit coals. I also bury the wood.
