That's grit. That's where the snow chute connects. I'll try putting a crescent wrench on the auger and see if I can get it to moveMy guess is something is seized or jammed in the auger. It looks like you could put an adjustable open-end wrench (Crescent wrench) on the auger and see if you can rock it back and forth. I see metal shavings in one of your pictures...what's up with that?

The guy a couple street over did that (rubber pads) and his blower throws snow 30 feet! I will see if I can I can turn it, or in the very least move it. I have a bad feelingI just added rubber pads on my impellor to close the gap. Disconnect the spark plug and it should turn by hand IIRC.
It's a well worth it DIY hack. I bought a kit off the Amazon. The guy a couple street over did that (rubber pads) and his blower throws snow 30 feet!
I'm kinda thinking you're right, but I haven't removed the plug and try turning the auger by hand. Gonna give that a goMy money is on seized auger or impeller. Common to have bearings seize on them tanks to the moisture and may times all the salt from digging snow up in/near the street
Looks like you meant the impeller but no worries. I got you!Pulled the plug, put a wrench on the auger and now she’s alive. Must have been a jam behind the auger I never saw anything though
The second photo shows the auger spinning, spinning fast too
Thanks everyone
That's what I meant, LOLLooks like you meant the impeller but no worries. I got you!
Yes sir! I actually broke it last week, but today was the first day since, that I could actually work in the garage. It's a toasty 31 degrees today, LOLI know what it's like to take one of those things apart in a cold garage to get it running again.
Sally's.Home Depot delivers my flooring this Thursday. Last Thursday they backed out due to snow![]()
