Snowblower Question

Question for the fellow Snowblower owners. Does this look like just a belt issue or more?

My $0.02. It doesn’t appear to be a belt issue at all. I’d be looking to see if something is seized in the impeller or auger assembly.

My money is on seized auger or impeller. Common to have bearings seize on them tanks to the moisture and may times all the salt from digging snow up in/near the street

My guess is something is seized or jammed in the auger. It looks like you could put an adjustable open-end wrench (Crescent wrench) on the auger and see if you can rock it back and forth. I see metal shavings in one of your pictures...what's up with that?

I’m no help in this one. When that kind of thing happens to me, I call my wife’s ex husband! There are times when NOT having shop space or three cases of tools works in my favor! He likes me, and while he may have been difficult to be married to, the guy speaks small engine repair very fluently!

That's grit. That's where the snow chute connects. I'll try putting a crescent wrench on the auger and see if I can get it to move

I just added rubber pads on my impellor to close the gap. Disconnect the spark plug and it should turn by hand IIRC.
The guy a couple street over did that (rubber pads) and his blower throws snow 30 feet! I will see if I can I can turn it, or in the very least move it. I have a bad feeling

I'm kinda thinking you're right, but I haven't removed the plug and try turning the auger by hand. Gonna give that a go

Pulled the plug, put a wrench on the auger and now she’s alive. Must have been a jam behind the auger I never saw anything though

The second photo shows the auger spinning, spinning fast too

Thanks everyone

Looks like you meant the impeller but no worries. I got you!

Nice work Chuck, hopefully that solves the problem permanently. Years ago, my snowblower ate a newspaper. It broke one of the shear pins and both of the belts so I know what it's like to take one of those things apart in a cold garage to get it running again.
