Smoking wood

Going to be taking down a Maple tree next. I was wondering if Maple is a good smoke wood as I have never used it before.

You bet it is. Maple is actually my favorite smoke wood. I use a tonne of it on pork.

Greg... maple is a very good smoking wood. Besides maple, I use alder and apple since all three are available here in the Pacific Northwest; sometimes free for the hauling.
