Hey all, i just got myself some maple and birch wood chunks. Both are green, i cut them from a tree which was felled by a storm. How long do i need to age them for before using? I cut them into hockey puck size pieces so i could use them directly on the smoker without further cutting..

Since you've already cut the wood into hockey-puck-sized pieces, you won't have to wait long at all.
Just keep the wood dry and it should be able to use within a month or so. The wood should be thorougly dry inside with no evidence of moisture when you cut a piece in half.

Right now its in a box in my basement. About 68% humidity..so a bit high..maybe i'll bring it upstairs...can i leave it in the box or should i spread it out?

The wood will dry slightly faster if spread out, but it certainly won't hurt to leave it in the box.
