Smokefire EX4

Hello All,

I just got my smokefire EX4 and I'm looking forward to smoking some briskets and pork butts on it. Did my 600 burn in no problems for 45 minutes. Cooked turkey legs for 6 hours and no feeding problems. I took the pellet grate out to keep fro. Having feeding issues. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm loving this grill and my fiance is loving it too. Got it from ace for 599 manager wanted to get rid of it and I have been looking at pellets for awhile. I freaking love thus grill it's my first weber.20200815_143246.jpg

I'm sure you'll get lots of feedback. But I'm curious how you got that for $599.?.??
I went into my local ace 3 different times looking for the performer deluxe and on the 4th time the manager was there. The grill was initially marked down to 799. It has thick dust and had been sitting for awhile. The manager just wanted it gone and offered me 599 out the door that day.

Dang! Nice score 👍. I can't offer any real advise since I don't have one. I've been on the fence about what way I want to go for a smoker. But a deal like that probably would have made my mind up. Other more useful people will be along shortly to answer your questions 😁. Have you read through the pages here yet? A ton of things have been covered by early adopters of the smoke fire. That will likely make your experience much more enjoyable not dealing with the initial problems because of their experience.

Yes I have been through the early adopters forums. When I was in the store I couldn't help but say yes to that deal. I have been looking at smokers and pellets for 3 months. Until I found this deal and couldn't let it pass by.

That's a great score. I don't recommend that you leave this group because you'll get a ton of help if you need it. But you can augment what you'll get here. There's a Public Facebook Group "Weber SmokeFire WoodFired Pellet Grill: Owners Group" and they have a great start on a Q&A. If you go read that you will learn a ton and probably save time in the future. Is this your first pellet pooper?

Yes this is my first pellet grill and I'm excited to do more smoking on it. I'm very much of keep it as clean as you got it person. And its gonna be babied as much as possible haha.

I'm taking the opposite approach. This is my third pellet grill and I'm pushing the boundaries to find out what it will take. That said, I think you're wise to take the conservative approach as it's your first pellet grill. One thing I keep seeing with the latest version of the grill firmware is temp dropping off for 15 to 20 minutes and then recovering. In some cases they got a flameout. If it happens to you don't let it spook you. The SF is a cooking machine.

I'll be sure to keep that in mind. I di know that updating firmware is a pain in the butt took me 3 tries for it to take and I mess with computers all day. Thanks for the info I'll be posting more. I'm looking at more if the accessories like the wok and cooking pizza in it!
