Smoke Wood - Silver Maple

Anyone have any experience using Silver Maple for smoke wood? I have a lot of it from damage caused by an ice storm last winter to trees in my yard. Would love to put it to good use. Thanks.

Not exactly, but I tried some Douglas Maple and some Manitoba Maple, neither of which were that great. Especially compared to Sugar Maple.

Silver maple is a fine choice. Similar to sugar maple.

I never used that species of Maple, whack off a few chunks and burn it in the chimney and see how it smells
