In case you missed the first attempt: http://tvwbb.com/eve/forums/a/...=523106286#523106286

This time around we had quite a few cherry and grape tomatoes and not many full size tomatoes. Here they are prepped and ready for the grill:

And after about 45 minutes of roasting and smoking:

The sauce was constructed the same as before. Sweated onions and garlic, deglazed with red wine, added tomatoes and fresh basil and oregano. At the advice of Kevin Kruger in my last post, we ran about a third of it through a food mill amd reserved some of the pasta cooking water.

Tossed with some whole wheat pasta, warmed up, pasta water added.

I blame the fact that I didn't take a nice picture of this plated on a local microbrewery called Troegs, but I did think of it later and can provide this messy pic of a plate with seconds.

That's a half of a breadstick and half of an Italian turkey sausage. I smoked the sausages the last time and they were fantastic, but these were baked off with the breadsticks. The tomatoes were actually frozen for about a week while we were away, so no grilling was done tonight.
