An Amish bird cut up and seasoned with Penzey's Galena Street.
Placed in a large 15" Lodge cast iron skillet with three red potatoes standing guard.
<span class="ev_code_GREY">the handle of the skillet was cut off to fit on a Weber kettle</span>

no oil or butter or anything was used in the skillet... just the bird.
the red spuds were added to the cis for no good reason other than a group photo.

the temp inside was pretty fricken hot, not really sure HOW hot butt it was.
it took 'bout ... well, i'm not really SURE how long it took to cook, butt once i stabbed the breast with the thermapen an' got a 180ºF reading...
i knew this bird was cooked. <span class="ev_code_GREY">psst! about 80 minutes</span>
plated the shé~cone & taters with sautéed crisp <span class="ev_code_GREEN">green</span> beans then seasoned w/ Wisconsin Butter & fresh ground red pepper flakes.

Say Jim, you and I must be on the same dinner schedule. I'll trade you a chicken thigh for a few ribs! That chicken looks super!

Absolutely great looking chicken and meal Jim! I clicked on the link for the chicken and I guess a road trip is in store to Tennessee, as it is the nearest retailer for me. Question for you, does it taste any different than what you can buy in a regular grocery store or butcher market?

i did that with some chicken breasts on a huge cast iron skillet a couple of weeks ago. no oil.... no butter.... just chicken... came out nice.

Great looking meal again, Jim. So when does grilling "season" start? Does that mean you'll be cooking 3 meals a day on a Weber?

You just have to keep upping the ante to us all. Another great cook and way way to use the weber. Well done

Letting a chicken <STRIKE>stew</STRIKE> fry in it's own skin/fat? Brilliant!
and kinda healthy sounding.

Everything looks fantastic Jim!
now if I can just talk an Amish farmer out of one of his birds....

Looks more like "crispy, seasoned, delicious AWESOMENESS!" Great looking meal, Jim.

Grilling knows no season my friend. When anybody asks me when is a good time to grill, I will say, "You should be grilling right now!
