HD has a crappy SS fastener selection, IMO. Menards is Muuuch better.

My home depot as well, I usually look for that kind of stuff at my local Ace hardware. They have a good selection and usually someone who knows exactly what bin it's in.

I did find these that were steel, but zinc plated, But like most here I prefer stainless steel.

I would worry that the zinc coated screws wouldn't survive very long in that environment, but I'm no metallurgist

I think if coated with NeverSeize should be ok. I would personally feel better with SS though

I would too. I don't think it's my imagination when I say that the quality of metal that's goes into screws of all kinds has dropped in the last few years. I just keep that in mind when choosing them for certain tasks.
