sirloin roast ?

i would like to smoke a 6 lb sirloin roast on the wkend
how long am i looking at
what type of would is recommended

Hey Bob, I would recommend you go to the cooking section of this website and take a look at the roast recipes.

If you want to smoke it, I suggest a lid temp of 250, and take it to an internal meat temp of about 145 to 150 for MR. Other options would be at a higher heat with an empty foiled lined pan to the same internal temp.

I would avoid mesquite or oak and favor pecan, apple or hickory (that's usually all I have available).

A sirloin tip roast is a great canidate but other roast also do well. A chuck roast is a different story and can be great but requires a different technique.

I would use some mesquite wood on that roast...
