Solemn day here in Jersey and NY especially. I have three of my kids living in the city now and they are all very sad today. We lost a lot of friends and loved ones around here and Fathers and Mothers of my kids friends. I lost many Brother Officers and Firemen and the ceremonies are on going today. The whole nation has suffered.
They will not be forgotten
And to my friends here on this great site I just want to say to all who lost loved ones, to those who serve in Police Military and Firefighters and EMT's.
God Bless you and keep you safe.

Something cool happened yesterday, check the link

And ESPN did a special released last night that many of you may want to see. Bring a handkerchief

I did not know anyone affected by 9/11 but when I read your post Bill, I got choked up thinking how difficult this day is for you and so many others even after 14 years has passed. My thoughts are with you and all those who lost loved ones and friends on that horrific day.

Thanks for sharing that Bill. I have a FDNY memorial tee shirt that I purchased right after 9/11 and am wearing now for the 13th time, once a year to remind myself and all that see it, the hurt will never go away.
I thank God everyday for those dedicated Peace Officers and Firemen that put their lives on the line everyday to protect us. It takes a very special person to do that, very special.

I have a friend who worked in the WTC. He was not in the building at the time, but is haunted by what happened, after seeing them fall.
They say that time heals all, in this case maybe not.

I'll never forget where I was and who I was with. I'll also never forget the few daze afterwards - loading Helicopters on C-17(s) until O dark early to take the fight to them

ESPN did a great job with their mini 30 for 30 on W throwing at the first pitch at Yankee stadium following 9/11.
I hope that every American took a moment to remember back to that day.

"Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve. America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining." -George W. Bush
