Please don't judge, but my experience is making a lot of box corn bread.
Anyway, I am looking to up my game. I am seeking a recipe that is gluten free because my wife doesn't do well with gluten. Most of the inexpensive (under a dollar) boxes contain more wheat than corn. I am open to all ingredients (canned corn, alternative flours, buttermilk, whatever), but I am ideally looking for something that can be made quickly, easily, and inexpensively from stuff I can keep on hand.
I generally cook cornbread in a 10" cast iron skillet and cut it like a clock.
