Earlier this week I accquired a new-to-me 22.5 Chocolate kettle. It is a pre 1979, there is some minor porcelain loss on the lid from an old dent. The lid vent has the raised WEBER logo and looks identical to the 1979-onward vents but there is no letter code. Judging by the wheel style, ash pan style and lid vent, I have guessed this kettle to be from 1978. I saw a black '77 22.5 kettle not too long ago that had the 'engraved' WEBER logo. The ash pan is pre '79 straight edge twist (they switched to rolled edge twist beginning the "A" kettles) This is how it looked upon arrival and re-assembly. It will get a full bath soon.
