Food Lions in the N.C. area have boston butts for $.86 per pound. I picked up two butts tonight for the weekend and might get two more for the feezer. These are cryo-packed and NOT enhanced! Not sure if all stores have the same sale or not but this is a real steal in this area.

This thread got me thinking so I checked the sale paper. Looks like the Food Lion in Mt. Airy Md has chucks for 2.49/lb and butts for .98/lb (interesting about the price difference among regions). I too will cook a couple of butts and a chuck on Sunday for pulled pork and beef sammies. The Skins have a bye, so I will actually get to watch some good football

Went to Food Lion and ended up getting the chuck roast for 1.91/lb on sale and the butt for .91/lb. The butt was not cryo-packed but sealed in regular meat packaging, it is fresh. Can't wait until Saturday at midnight when the 10 lb butt goes on and I'll be looking out for ghouls and gobblins (depending on how many cold ones I've had). I'll put the 4lb chuck on at around 10 a.m. Sunday morning. Dinner at halftime of the 4 o'clock games!!!

Hey Tony,
Believe it or not, the Steelers are my AFC team. The only time I don't root for them is if they are playing the Skins. My neighbor is a huge Steelers fan and during last year's superbowl, the two of us drank two cases of IC light!!! How bout them Stillers!! Too bad they have a bye as well this week. Looks like I have to watch the Broncos crush the Ravens!! Go Broncos!!!
