Aloha Jennifer,
Welcome to TVWBB!
Clean build, I like your replacement ash catcher & added damper handle
One question- how far down from under the pot rim did you drill the hole for your thermometer?
I am finished with mine, with the exception of the permanent Thermometer.
Mahalo,

Wow look at the smoke ring on those babies! excellent cook!
What were the Temps?
My boyfriend had to go to work today so I kinda rushed these last set of baby back ribs (the ones pictured above). I kept them around 240-250F the entire time. At the end threw them on a hot 550F grill for couple mins to glaze them. I pulled them off the mini wsm at an internal temp of around 170F--I figured the grill would get them to 180F. I might of gotten them above 180F inside on the grill--I'm not too sure; but they tasted great!![]()
I mentioned this in another thread, but another reason to go with the Smokey Joe Gold (as opposed to the Silver) is that the Gold has the side vents, and it's simple to hook up a temp controller like a BBQ Guru. Not necessary, perhaps, given the temp stability of the minis, but I do like the ability to monitor the pit and food temps via wifi. The Guru Weber adapter screws right into the side hole (while blocking the other side hole with the tape). The other set of vents can be closed entirely or (what I've been doing) leaving open slightly to get increased airflow for higher temps.
I don't have a SJ silver, but my understanding is that silver has only the bottom vents, so you'd need to drill a side vent to mount the Weber adapter (or any other adapter).
Kevin, I just built my CL-found SJG (2012 model). The vent holes are 1 inch in diameter, two per side. I have been amazed at how steady the temp holds in my set up. For my initial burn-in (no food), my smoker held 265+/- deg for 8-1/2 hours without any additional briquets or vent adjustments before I shut it down. I estimate I still had 35-40% of the briqets remaining. I don't think you will a CyberQ to hold your temps if my experience is indicative.
Some things suck over here in Japan such as getting what you really want.
