Round Eye Roast

Anyone ever try smoking a round eye roast? It might be a little to lean but was wondering if anyone had ever given it a try.

It's too lean IMO for a low and slow.

You can still do it in the wsm with decent results but at a higher temp. Just slice it very thin (a meat slicer works best) when done. I've cooked mine to about 125-130 internal before taking off.

To me , it's more convenient to do on a kettle as you can put on a decent sear at the end to add flavor.

I bbq'ed a bottom round roast yesterday. It turned out great. It's just as lean as a round eye roast.
Here's a link to my writeup about bbq'ing a bottom round roast.
