Rookie Mistakes....

I forgot to put a drip pan under when doing stick wings a few weeks ago. Wings were real sticky, and so was one of my weber kettles :(

Wouldn't even consider paying attention to any advice saying not to clean your grill ... About 9.9 out of 10 a friend will invite me for dinner and everything will be charred burnt and totally inconsistent on doneness and every time I've noticed there grill filthy and riddled with fat drippings it is extremely hard to cook decent food when you're fighting a grease fire and constant flare ups be smart and clean your grill

I don't think you have a problem. I try to remember to put a litle foil under whatever I'm cooking. But, I forget about half the time. I wouldn't worry about it. Whenever I get a little more gunk than I want (like another reply mentioned, the vents don't move well), I use a block of wood. I keep scraps from whenever I'm building something. Usually, a triangle or wedge shaped piece works well.
