As an update, I went ahead and did this mod as well and placed my WSM 18" on it. I used the nibbler, did the horse shoe cut out to make it easy to take off/on the cart, and also used the rubber from Amazon that @Jeff R MA suggested so I don't worry about it scratching the finish.

I used to cut out radii like that with a machine-mounted plasma cutter. Wish I had access to it now.

I was looking at that cart at HF this weekend, wondering if it would fit my 22.5" WSM. Turns out, it will:

The hf cart is 24x36. So a 22 fits.
Tbd if you should do a key hole or a horse shoe. Key hole means you have to lift the barrel straight up. Horse shoe is a bit more secure.
