Steve/Sean, the other thing you can look for is a casting date on the inner side of the lid end caps. I have not personally looked for a casting date there so no picture of what to look for but the date is not as prominent (but easier to read) as the cook box date. It may give you a better idea of the mfg. date...

Are the Rocker Switches the same on the Control Panel as the Burner?

Samuel: The rocker switch on the control panel has the igniter button under it. When you press the rocker switch, it pushes down on the Piezo igniter button which sends a spark through wires to the electrode in the gas collector which is inside the cook box. That is what ignites the burners.
