Well, I am going to give this another try BRITU I cut way down on the rub this time I think I can make 1/2 batch next time. I did try Chris Lilly’s shoulder rub on the last spares I did and they were very good. Cooking for the in-laws today I hope I don’t mess up. I will have more picks as I get them cooking in a couple of hours.

Just a note, as it sounds like you've had less than stellar experience with the BRITU rub?

Some people complain that it is too salty. I tried the BRITU rub and substituted Coarse kosher salt in for the regular salt the recipe calls for.

Results were excellent and not too salty.
