My oldest son turns six tomorrow. Aside from the usual Pokemon cards, Gameboy games, and baseball glove (which he already has), he wants me to cook his very bestest favorite meal in the whole world - spare ribs done BRITU style.

I'm going to try something a bit different - brush on Willingham's All-Purpose Marinade twenty to thirty minutes prior to dusting the ribs with BRITU rub. I think it's going to be a winner...

My son wants to learn and help. Knowing the apple never falls far from the tree, do I get him a cordless drill for his seventh b'day? /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'll post results...

Peace. Have a great weekend. Out.

Just the other day I asked my seven year old son what his absolute all time favorite meal would be. His answer?

"Dad's ribs with macaroni and cheese on the side."

Oh to be seven again /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I know you were joking about the drill, but you might not be far off.

My only nephew just turned seven. His Dad is my brother-in-law and cooking partner on our BBQ team. Little Tyler has hung around and helped us since he was four and is more responsible around fire than most adults I know. I've already got the all-clear from his Mom and this year his Christmas gift from Uncle Darren is going to be his first grill, a Weber Smokey Joe. Of course he's going to have constant supervision, but we think the responsibility will be good for him.

Besides, I need to make sure he starts off right and uses Weber products from the very beginning, right?
