Rib eye roast

I got a rib eye roast yesterday. It was on sale for 3.47 and couldn't pass it up. This will be my first one and think that I should do it like a tri-tip. Smoke it till it reaches 110 than pull it and sear it? Do you guys have any suggestions? I plan on doing it on Sunday. Thanks

I don't sear them. I rub them with garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil (in reverse order) and smoke them at around 250 for about 4 hrs or until I get the internal temp I want. I usually take them to 135, remove them from the smoker and rest them for a half hour at least. I smoke with hickory and or apple with a heavy smoke for about 2 hrs.

My neighbors and family like it a lot. I serve it with a sauce made with horserapish sauce and sour cream. Very good.
