Replacement Water Pan for 18.5"

Hello everyone!

I am new to this site so I hate to just throw out a question right away, but I am getting desperate.

I need a new water pan for my 18.5" WSM. I am having no luck whatsoever locally, so I need to order online, which I figured would be a snap, but not so much. Does anyone have any suggestions? The Weber site is not very friendly to WSM owners in terms of parts. I have determined that the part # is 63024 but even with that, this thing seems to be a hard find.

So what I am asking is if anyone can recommend an online retailer where I can get one of these and have it shipped to me by this Friday, I would appreciate it!

Thanks so much for your help!

Their number is on their website, and you can speak to a live person and get fast results. At least I have a few times, all with very satisfactory results.

That said, Weber has NEVER made a water pan that was ideal for the 18.5" wsm. The pre-09 wsm had the shallow Smokey Joe lid that held little water. It also could be knocked off the supports from what I hear, and that's the last thing I want in a cook. Well, the '09 wsm's have this great big water bowl, not really a pan at all, that drops down nearly to the top of the charcoal ring and hampers access to the fire or heaping fuel for long cooks. This bowl is the bowl from the Smokey Joe, not the lid, and it also will tip over if you remove it and don't have some way to support it and keep from spilling drippings.

Don't know where you're at, but Academy Sports and some other places have the BRINKMAN charcoal pan for their little water smoker. I paid about $5 for mine and not only is it the perfect capacity, it fits the supports perfectly so it won't get knocked off. The bottom is flat, so it won't ever tip over after a smoke. You'll have much better access to the fire and can fit a whole bag of Stubbs plus wood chunks in the ring for long cooks if needed.

You're welcome, Matt. I do hope you ordered the Brinkman CHARCOAL pan, and not the WATER pan. Sorry, I probably should have emphasized that before or said it in red.

Anyways, Bass Pro Shop did carry the pans as well, and I'd recommend picking up a spare for cheap if you're ever near somewhere that sells 'em. They're not tin foil or anything, but the only downside is that they're not as heavy as the Weber pans. They're cheap though, and my first one still doesn't leak. I used it as a diffusor in my old UDS a few years back and I've been using it in my wsm for about a year and a half, now.

Dave is right. I bought a Brinkmann pan a few months after purchasing my WSM and its great. I use my stock WSM pan as a "dome" when I have some raw meat sitting out at room temp. But like he said, order the CHARCOAL pan and NOT the WATER pan. I made that mistake and found out the hard way that the water pan is too small. Brinkmann's customer service was pretty good though so swapping it out was relatively painless (except for the line at the post office I had to stand in to send the old one back...I haven't been in a post office since the Clinton administration).
