Replacement Charcoal Grate?

Ok, this may seem very early and make me out to be a not to take care of my grill very well, but here it goes, I received my 22-1/2 a little after christmas and used it once on the superbowl, and forgot to clean out ashes for a couple weeks and went to clean it out yesterday and saw the charcoal grate has some rust on it and I mean rust. Should I return my part to weber in exchange it, or is it ok since I don't actually put food on it? I have checked the weber site and don't see replacement parts for it on there, only on other sites (63014 part number).

I wouldn't risk spraying anything on it that might cause fumes during your next cook.

Brush it if you want and just use it until it falls apart. In other words, don't sweat it!

I don't spray anything on any of the grates either. I usually pull the center section and burn off the cooking grates over any coals left before extinguishing the fire. Mine is a DZ (08) and the cooking grates haven't started to rust yet. They're cheap enough to replace when they do.
