Reheating Ribs

I smoked 4 racks of ribs yesterday for a party today. What is the prefered method of reheating them? I was planning on the oven at about 300 and check them every 20 mins to see when they are warm. Is there any problem with this method? I normally reheat in foil on a grill, but thought it would be easier to just use the oven as I have chicken thighs that also need to be reheated.

Imo, one method isn't necessarily better than the other. The operative issue is not to over-reheat. They only need to be serving temp. Any hotter - especially for an extended time - means they will cook more. If further cooking isn't needed they end up overcooking.

Your method should be fine.

I've had very good luck using a slow cooker. I divide the ribs into individual bones and pile them in. Put the cooker on high until it begins to warm up, then reduce to low until warmed through. The benefit of the slow cooker is that it is difficult to overheat them. They will hold on low for a couple of additional hours.

I've done the same with pulled pork with equal success.

I reheated a half rack of vacuum sealed spares recently in hot (not boiling) water for about a half hour, sauced them, and put them under the broiler for a couple of minutes to carmelize. Tasted like they just came off the smoker.

While this may border on heresy...I nuke mine in the microwave and they always taste great

I am not an expert by any means but I reheated some last night and they came out really good. I wrapped them in foil and poured a tad bit of apple juice in the foil. Put them in the oven at around 300 just until they warmed up.

I ussually don't have any ribs to reheat since they get eaten!

When I first read about nuking ribs I thought someone had lost their mind. Then I brought half a rack to work and only had a microwave to heat them. It worked great, and didn't damage the meat like I thought it might. Now my ribs always go from the fridge to the nuker.

I've used all the methods described above, all work great (even nuking). I usually freeze my leftovers in vacuum-sealed bags which work great for the microwave or for boiling.

My preferred method is 250 deg in the over (in foil) for about 30 minutes. You just have to make sure the ribs are thawed first.

My wife prefers the micro, she just pokes a couple of holes in the bag and let's 'em rip.
