I used VHT engine paint to repair chips in a redhead porcelain hood that were caused by the end caps rubbing.
Three coats and it was hard to spot the repair.
Look at VHT and Rustoleum high heat & caliper paints (also high heat). There are some shade variations that you can compare to the color of your hood. If you want to go all out, you can use high heat clear coat on top of the paint. Just don't get paint on the porcelain that isn't damaged. It will stand out.
Make sure you test the paint out on something other than the hood first.
I have a can of red VHT Flameproof that comes out looking more orange than red.
Good advice, Kyle. I think VHT has a high heat caliper paint that is a deeper red and closer to the original (not the "Ltd Edition") red kettles. Best bet, for sure, is to do some test painting.
