Recycle Frozen Food Boxes

I've been trying to be more eco-friendly, but I'm really confused about recycling frozen food boxes. Many of these boxes have a plastic coating to prevent freezer burn and I heard that this makes them hard to recycle. Plus, sometimes there's food residue left inside and I'm not sure if that contaminates the recycling.

Has anyone figured out a good way to deal with these?
Can they actually be recycled, or should I just throw them out?
Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

If in doubt I "throw it out". Hell I fill 2 large recycling bins (the size of trash totes) every 2 weeks. Less now though since I bought a home sparkling water maker. I was pretty much filling a whole bin with just bottles! But now I fill fizz chill, I send the empty CO2 tanks to a place in WI (in Lake Mills) they refill and send back. No waste.

My trash company has very good guidance of what they will accept. I have three cans. Recycle; yard-waste-and-compost; trash.

Visit the website for your trash company and they may have guidance for you.

I simply look at stuff. If I see a recycle label it goes into the recycling bin. I fill 2 big recycle bins to one trash bin
