Recommendations for purchasing brisket online

Are there any recommendations for purchasing a cryovac sealed whole packer brisket online?

I've been shopping locally for whole packer brisket and the only place I'm able to find it is a country butcher that's a bit of a drive for me. In my area, the stores only seem to carry very closely trimmed flats (this includes local grocery stores, Sam's Club and Costco). My local Wal-Mart does not have a meat selection (as I've heard Wal-Mart carries whole packer cuts).

So at this point, I'd like to find out what my options are for purchasing brisket online.

Thanks!

Joshua, I love brisket but there is no way I can justify spending the money for a brisket that I've seen on-line. Having said that, there is Snake River Farms, Strube Ranch, and Creekstone Farms that sell brisket on-line, with Creekstone Farms being the least expensive and USDA Prime. Snake River and Strube Ranch offer Waygu brisket or what they call Waygu. Some competition BBQ teams order from them. My advise would be to find a local butcher shop or meat shop and talk to the owner and see if he can order you one from his supplier. OR, talk to the meat manager at the local grocery store, he might be able to order one for you. Check and see if there is a Restaurant Depot store near you they carry whole packers, however, you have to own a business to get a free membership.

Ordering meat on-line is very expensive. Hope this helps.

If your a KCBS member I think you can get into Restaurant Depot (if avail).

I'd try talking to the local meat manager. You may not get choices that way but at least it's a shot.

Online is outrageous.

There is also Paradise Lockers out of Missouri, but they are about the same price. If there is a BBQ joint in town you could see if the owner would sell you a packer, some will do that.
You could also write Sam's corporate and see if they would approve your local store to start carrying Prime packers, we did that here.

It's the Super W-M that carries packers, go figure I have two of em about 5mins either way from my house.
Ya have any ethnic stores locally? (eastern European or Latino )
I've had good luck finding choice cryod packers there, for a decent price.

Thanks for the recommendation for KCBS membership / Restaurant Depot eligability. Does anyone know if this is valid? I saw that it costs $35/year for KCBS membership. I found that my closest Restaurant Depot is about and hour away. That's something that I could handle.

I just checked the KCBS site. It says to print this coupon and present it along with a current KCBS card at the reception desk for a one day pass at RD.

Also, KCBS members get a 10% discount at Creekstone Farms online brisket purchase over $80.

I was in r depot about 6 months ago and they accepted the kcbs code. I had to control myself from buying too much. I echo the other recommendations, talk to the butcher at your grocery, big box store, etc. You'll be able to track it down.

When you say the stores only have closely-trimmed flats, are they on the styrofoam tray wrapped in cellophane with a sticker price on it? If so, that was probably cut there at the store.

Make friends with the people behind the meat counter, see if they get in whole packers which they then trim. If so, you can probably buy a whole packer from them. They'll probably also custom-order you anything you want, but you may have to buy in bulk. I wanted to get some bone-in turkey breasts over the summer. They were willing to order a case of 8 if I was willing to buy at least 4. I told them no problem and stocked up my freezer.

Yes, I do it all of the time. RD has a great selection of CAB briskets, Select Brisket and Halal briskets. I get most of my BBQ meats there now.
