Re-Rubbing a Butt

Hi All,

Who's a fan of rubbing a butt the night before then re-rubbing it just before placing it on the smoke?
I've probably done 10 butts in the past 3 years. Not a lot but I'm pretty comfortable. I used to double rub but haven't in a while.
Any opinions on the merits?

James, I've done both ways, but nowadays I don't re-rub. I just look at 'em when I pull out of the fridge, and if any spots look "sparse", I'll sprinkle on a little more rub in that spot.
 
the next morning my butts are covered in such a sloppy coating of rub/injection/mustard that adding more rub seems insane. But ive never tried adding even more so maybe its even better? The great part of bbq is the the trial and error. Ive learned that you can never write off methods until you've tried them. Give it a shot and report back.
 
Thanks all. I think I'll stick with the single application for this one as the target crowd is a little weak in their spice tolerance but I do want to do the double next time to compare.
I didn't inject this time but it does leave a sloppy mess if you wrap after rubbing. In that case I will add to fill the washed away areas.
Doing an overnighter tonight so I may live post if I can stay awake.
