Rancher update and request

I sent an email to the Original Charcoal Company asking if the Trader Joes branded charcoal was still the Rancher charcoal, and it is!

They are trying to get into Lowes and have asked to drop a note to Lowes in support. I will be doing so! Maybe we can get a movement going

Todd!
Thank you for your email.
Yes, trader joe's, www.traderjoes.com carries our RANCHER in their TJ's label. It is the same high quality charcoal in the TJ's bag. TJ's is the best shot for RANCHER in your area...Sorry. We are trying to land Lowes, and have been asked to cook for HQ in a week or so. Maybe a note from you, and everyone that you can round up...will help ... customercare@lowes.com ...Please let me know what they say.
Thank you for your interest and support,
Eric

I Love Rancher's. I Still have about 12 bags left, from the Home Depot sale, a few years ago. Thanks for the update, I fired off an email to Lowes. I hope they will carry Ranchers!

Heck Michael, you either had to buy about 2000 bags or you use it realllly slow

Either case I'm impressed you still have some left

Hey guys, what is the difference between Frontier "Rancher" and this?
LINKY

and I thought Cowboy was garbage, but it has amazing reviews on Ace's Website....

Not in a rush to get anything, I have (3) 22 lb. bags of Wicked that I still can't believe I paid so much for...

PS - Just called Trader Joe's, its $6.99 for 18 lb. bags - thats so cheap!

The Rancher briquettes are what TJ's sells, at least up here. Your link is lump and not made by the same company. I don't know what Frontier Rancher is

Yeah, I think a botched internet search brought me to Frontier from the original charcoal company some how. No worries...

How well do you think this Rancher will hold up for an overnight cook?

Cool beans, I have some RO Briquettes as well, but may go up to trader's tomorrow and pick up a bag, I cannot stand the taste and smell of Regular K!!

Ever do an over night with either? If so, did you need to refuel during the night? That's my big concern

I've only done a few over night smokes, but I never had to refuel during the night. A very full load of charcoal with a Minion Method start should get you through until morning if not later.

That is the great part of Rancher. Long cooks, less ash and I believe all natural. I just did 4 butts this weekend, loaded it up with Rancher, started using the minion method and went 12 hours before even thinking about looking at the coals. Added more at about the 14 hour mark.

Let's keep the pressure on Lowes -

I still have some left from that too. I had a big empty shelf in my garage at the time, so I bought 2 pallets (the only 2 pallets I could find). Still have some left as on some lazy cooks I just pull the bag of RO out of the Performer.
