Rabbit cooking tips?

I just bought a tri-tip, some duck breasts, and a farm-raised rabbit at a local gourmet shop that is about the only place within 100 miles that carries such items.

The rabbit was sold per pound and rang up over $30. Might not have bought it had I known that in advance. I told the cashier it better be a darned good rabbit for $30.

Anyway, does anyone have any recipes or tips for grilling or smoking rabbit? The search engine turns up few prior posts on cooking lapin.

Chris Lilly's "Big Bob" book has a recipe for grilled rabbit that is marinated in an apple cider brine. Anyone tried it? I thought about brining the bunny and then putting it on the rotisserie (which makes everything good).

Chris, back when I used to hunt quite a bit, we'd just make stew or fry 'em. I can vouch for Chris Lilly's recipes though, and a brine sounds like a really good idea.

Fried or guisado can't go wrong with either method, imho rabbit is better than a rib eye steak. Farm raised rabbits are a lot more tastier than wild rabbits also.
