Quick question on Drip Trays

Will a drip tray (the big black porcelain one, not the aluminum one under it) from a Genesis 1000 fit on a Silver B?

Reason I ask is I am currently working on a Silver B that a guy dropped off for me to rehab for him and when I went to clean up the drip tray, I found a couple small holes in it. I already quoted him a price and it didn't include a new drip tray. I have a couple spares laying around in the shed but I think they are for Genesis 1000's. Just hoping they will fit and can't say I have ever checked that before. Anyone know for sure???

Bruce, cant comment on the fit, but I had a drip tray with some large holes in it on one unit. I used some JB Weld. I just backed up the holes with some wax covered cardboard, and spread some on, then took off the card board when it dried. Its been holding up for 4 years now and shows no signs of giving up. Out of sight anyway. didn't mean to derail your thread :-)

Bob, that is an interesting fix. I would probably consider that for a personal grill, but for a flip, I think I would opt for a replacement.

From what I have seen, the drip trays on the original Genesis (1-5, x000) will not fit on the newer Silver/Gold/Platinum or vice versa.

I can confirm. The drip trays on the X000 grills are bigger than the ones on the Silver B/C. They will not fit the Silver B/C.
