As our resident Weber expert, I have a question that maybe you can answer. Not an important question, but one that bugs me because I don't understand something.

I bought a new top cooking grate for the WSM yesterday at a hardware store. The package says the part number is #70601. But when I look at the parts schematic on the Weber site, it says the part number is #970601.

Why the difference? What's the "9" for?

Regards,
Chris

Look at me, i got my name on my very own topic. I feel loved here /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Anyways Chris, what i found is that there is no difference between the two, the product number that begins with 9 is the newer number and doesn't actually mean that it is a different product.
As for the reason for the new number, it is because we like to confuse people, it keeps us entertained. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Just kidding, the additional number was added probably because we were running out of 5 digit numbers to use for grill parts.
