Question about my 1994 Performer

I just took a look at my SSP and you might consider keeping the flame king. I’m in the same situation as you and have a 5lb flame king tank from another grill waiting in the wings for when I empty my original Manchester tank.

My solution will be to take a one inch length of 1/2” PEX, cut a slit and place into mounting hole on the FK tank to stabilize the tank. You will need to modify the mount to accommodate the much narrower mounting hole though…

Finally it's done! I decided to keep the Flame King tank because I couldn't find the Manchester at a reasonable price and I figured we would figure out how to attach it. As you see in the pics, it doesn't fit the space perfectly but we wired it on and it works! I'm so happy and I don't think I could have done it without your help. I'm looking forward to a good summer of grilling and wish you the same!IMG_3491.jpgIMG_3492.jpg

I just saw this after I posted my photos. Your solution is elegant - mine less so 😎but it works. Thanks for the suggestion. If I had seen it in time I would have done it your way for sure.

If you convert to a 20lb, if you get a Genesis tank scale/hanger drill two holes and you’re in business.

*Edit* The SSP shares a tank mount with the Genesis, so there are already two holes there, you just have to drill thru the piece that holds the propane tank and you're in business.
