Question about genesis Lids

Hey guys I was curious I have seen a couple of the genesis silver B lids that look about the same shape as the original 1000-5000 lids except they have the square plastic handle. I know some times these don’t have the screws holes on the end caps they have the built in screw and you would bolt them on the inside. And some did have the genesis 1000 style end caps with the holes.

But my question is is the porcelain enamel part swapable with the genesis 1000 end caps and these square silver ones. Also would a wood handle fit on these.

I just checked a Genesis 3000 schematic vs a Silver B schematic. Both quote the same part number for the 'lid assembly' Part 60582. So that looks to be the case. Wood handle should be fine too, looks like they all bolt up the same way.

That's what I had thought. When they went to the later Silver hoods and then the Golds with some different style hoods, the end caps of course no longer could be swapped, although the complete hoods still could be.

Yep, all the squared off lids will interchange from first Generation Genesis 1-5 through Silver B up until they introduced the more rounded lids for Golds and some of the later Silver B's. You can use a 1985 Lid with end caps from a 2003 Silver end caps. The entire lids with end caps caps can be swapped on grills throughout the generations as well.
