Q100 more portable than Q1200?

We went camping over the weekend. Instead of bringing my usual Primus 2-burner stove, I decided to bring the Q1200. Meals turned out delicious and I’m thinking I’m going to bring the Q more often.

Transporting it wasn’t bad but it definitely took up more space than I thought. I really wished it would’ve fit in a Costco 27 gallon bin. It was wide enough but the top was just too tall for it. I was able to close it, but there was a big bulge and I couldn’t stack anything on top of it.



Is the older Q100 much shorter than the Q1200? I’m wondering if I’d be able to fit it in the 27 gal bin. If not, I’ll have to find a bin that will fit the Q1200.

The 1200 does have a higher hood than the 100.

Looks like it’s only 1” shorter than the Q1200. Not really meaningful difference.

I’ll have to find a taller bin. Thanks.

they actually made a nylon carrying case for them back in the day. Kinda like a duffle bag. You might check Ebay or keep an eye on the sale sites if that might be something you would want to consider.

Here is what I am talking about. It looks like Weber still sells them in New Zealand interestingly enough.
