Q 2800N+, propane tank mount on cart?

Hello everyone,

My name is Ryan, and I recently purchased a Q 2800N+ with the stand from Lowe's on clearance for $200 last month—an opportunity I couldn't resist.

I'm now assembling it and have a question regarding the propane tank mount inside the stand. Specifically, I'm referring to the longer rod designed to secure the tank. My inquiry is whether this rod is intended to pass through the hole indicated by the blue circle, or if it should simply be positioned against the side, as indicated by the red circle. When inserted through the hole, the tank sits unevenly, as it raises one side.

(See attached photos)

Thank you

Great deal on a Q2800+. Since they are so new, I have no experience with them, so I can't help you out though. Let us know how you like it once you get it set up and cooking.

What a great deal! I think that the idea was to put that long bolt through the hole in the bottom of your tank and use what looks like a nut on it to firmly secure the tank. Just my somewhat educated guess, though.

OK, I can buy that it is just a tensioner. The instruction page you show has the references for pics A, B and C, but I am guessing the next page might have D and E shown in the pics. I assume that is where they address how to tighten it down.
Well, I attached the manual in my earlier post, and the next page doesn't haxe any additional info on mounting the tank but discusses how to connect the tank and check for leaks. The tank being tipped when the bolt is engaged in the hole would be a non-starter for me, but either way of stabilizing the tank would be fine IMO.
