Q 1200 Temps

I was recently gifted a well used but cared for q1200 grill. After cleaning the burner and well, the whole grill it ignites no problem and according to the thermometer it will get over 500 degrees in high with just the 1lb cylinders. Around what temps should the low and medium settings be ? Thanks. I just thought about it while at work or I’d go outside and try it.
 
You can also do the regulator delete and get it up to 600deg.

I like the regulator delete. I can get the grill hotter (to near 600 deg).

Pretty simple job. The only negative is if you like using the 1lb green canisters. I personally don’t like them. So I bought a 5lb tank. Plenty portable for outings.

Just be careful not to leave it at high heat for long

Pablo, just be careful. A Q grill can handle only so much heat for extended periods of time. If you see that temp pushing over 600 and you accidentally, or purposely leave it on for a long time or forget and leave it on over night, you could come back to a nuclear melt down.

I have the same gas safe hose and installed on my new Q1200. Can get to 600 no problem for quick preheating before lowering to cook. Haven’t used the small cylinders yet.
