Going to try Pepper Stout Beef tomorrow for the first time. We have some friends coming over to watch some football and o have really wanted to give this a try. My question is, have any of you made the recipe using something other then Giuness Stout? I a always try to follow a recipe as close as possible the first couple times, but I don't have any Giuness, nor have I seen any at the grocery stores near by.
Thanks, Tim

I have always used a Stout but have never used Giuness. Everything has always turned out delicious. Hope this helps.

Like Bob said, any strong beer. I bet Nashville's own award winning Porter by Blackstone Brewery would be a fine choice and that's what I'll probably try next time. Nothing wrong with the Guiness though if you can find it. Someone wrote they liked using Negra Modelo.

Anyhow, I finally had the fajitas at Chuey's over the holidays. My wife and I thought they were the best we've ever had, so I guess I need to see how to incorporate beer into those as well, since the server mentioned something about using Shiner Bock. Bottom line is that beer really can make beef better.
