Probe grommet?

I was thinking about getting one of these to install in the 18" WSM. Is it worth it or should I just keep doing what I'm doing, just sitting the lid on the probe cables?

Yes, if installed in the factory location and used for a pit-temp probe. Otherwise, the setup you are using now is better to me.
