PALATINE, Ill., April 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Weber-Stephen Products LLC, the company that helped ignite the gas grilling revolution more than 30 years ago with the launch of its flagship Genesis gas grill line, announces the introduction of new Genesis II, an eight grill line-up that promises the grilling community an unparalleled backyard grilling experience.

"Our most loved gas grill just got better," says Melissa Enos, Vice President, Americas Marketing, Weber-Stephen Products LLC. "We thoughtfully designed each component of Genesis II to provide a range of sizes from two, three, four, and six burner that fits the needs of any backyard griller to deliver the ultimate grill performance."

The Genesis II and Genesis II LX lines include eight gas grill models, with two, three, four and six-burner options. All models feature the new GS4 High Performance Grilling System featuring: new tapered burners that allow for even heat distribution; a 10-year warranty on Weber's new Infinity ignition system; Flavorizer bars to help reduce flare-ups; and a new center-located grease management system for faster, easier cleaning.

And for the first time, each grill in the line features a docking station to house the App enabled iGrill 3 digital thermometer (sold separately, $109 MSRP), that monitors cooking times and temperature, sending alerts directly to users' smart phones.

The Genesis II line features a sleek open cart design with a bottom storage shelf. Additional features on the step-up Genesis II LX line include a new high+ setting that provides an added boost of heat; stainless steel cooking grates; an enclosed grill cabinet; handle lights; lighted control knobs and a Tuck-Away warming rack designed to accommodate the Weber Elevations tiered cooking system.

The Genesis II and Genesis II LX grills range from $599 to $2,249 MSRP. Visit www.weber.com to learn more about the Genesis® II line of grills.

Just came back from home depot. I really like the 4 burner Genesis II LX, but again the price just stops me cold. We use our two gassers for quick burgers, brats, dogs, etc. Or when in the summer the fire restrictions are in place (no charcoal). For the use it would get the cost doesn't add up for us.

they do look like a good grill. but what is so different from the lineup that hasn't been done before? other than the igrill compatibility (which is sort of gimmicky), i don't really see anything worth upgrading for.

I think it depends on what you're upgrading from. Probably the biggest thing that is new is the burner and ignition design. Not worth upgrading from last year's model, however if you're many years old, or have another reason to upgrade, its there.

I'm considering it to get a bigger grill, and I like the idea of the N/S burners for indirect cooking. My current grill is 12-13 years old, which is a young one for some people here, but decently well used.

I'm confused, didn't they release this in December/January?
Whats new here?

Nothing new here. But it's now officially grilling season, that time of year when normal human beings (not members here) turn their attention to buying new grills. So it's time for Weber to put out the official press release to be picked up by various media outlets...and lots of television commercials.
