Pork Butt question

Went to the local meat specialty store to see if they had butts not enhanced. Turns out none of their pork is enhanced - good thing. They called their butts pork roasts. The strange part is they were all around 3lbs. Isn't that abnormally small? Probably good for me, cooking for two people, but I was surprised. The price was $2.89 lb.

Yeah that's small. They probably cut the butts in half. Kinda expensive too. I get a cryovac pack with 2 butts in it at BJ'S wharehouse club for $1.38 lb they average 7-9 lbs per butt. Sam's club is another good place to get butts. Some Super WalMarts have unmolested/unenhanced Smithfield picnics for $0.98 lb. Stay away from the Farmland Brand pork products at WalMarts they are enhanced.

Bill--

Ask them if they are cutting them there. It is not common for butts to ship that way. A 6-8 pound bone-in is best, imo. Several major packers are within a virtual stone's throw from you (not that that should matter); someone should carry what you're looking for.
