Pig candy, and a couple of steaks

I used up the last of my cherry wood smoked bacon for some candied bacon.
Brown sugar and a sprinkle of rub.





Ribeye steak that was ungraded, I'm sure it was Select, and a ribeye cap steak from Costco.
The steak had some chew, but good flavor.
I was disappointed in the cap steak with its rather large portion of silver skin. I've found a little in them before, but not like this. For their high price I won't be buying more.

Sure look good Bob. I wasn't too impressed with the cap steaks either. They usually come 3 to a pack up here. I purchased a pack and grilled two and froze the third. I asked one of Costco's meat guys a while back ( before this mess fell upon us) if he would package one for me to pair up with the one in the freezer. He said he could not but I could find singles occasionally when it was all they had. I'm still looking and waiting. About the only beef I buy at Costco these days are prime rib eyes and tri tip. Oh yeah, and brisket.
