Picking up this free little gem tomorrow!

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope it was a great one. I picked up this freebie this morning and was going to use it as a doner and harvest the needed manifold and valves for my previous project (almost complete) but I’m LOVING the green! I think I’ll just take this lid to mine along with the needed parts. A couple of questions on this one. It came with real wood shelving and handle (removed to keep out of the weather) and I’m assuming that this little silver clip with the hole is to support the arm for the swing up shelf? Does that clip look right to you? Also, check out that propane connection! She included the replacement hose, she just never got around to it. Best laid plans, right?

Anyway, thanks hope you have a great Sunday!!

The clip is to hold the table up. Your grill is a nineteen ninety seven model year. And that is a quick connect on the propane hose.
Thanks, that’s what I thought. I was just thinking that the circled area looked weird. Also, that quick connect wouldn’t be very quick since it would have to be some adapter on the tank that would have to move to the new one…😂

You can just unscrew the quick connect fitting and install a new acme nut on that regulator if it's still in good condition.

You guys are amazing! I wish I would have taken a before picture but they were so bad that I thought I had nothing to lose. I don’t have a bottle of bleach but I do have this spray beach cleaner so I sprayed enough of it to cover these knobs and switch for 3 hours (forgot about them over dinner). Just took them out and wiped them off, wow! I’ll sharpie the line and call it a day!IMG_8802.jpeg

I can imagine what the before looked like, nice job.

That clip should go on the back left frame leg and that tab should fit into a hole to hold it in place.

It looks great except you put the lower cross members in the wrong place. They go lower and should be even with the ones that run front to back. Otherwise nice job.
I thought that looked a little weird too! I didn’t tear it down that far, just left it assembled, lightly sanded and painted. That makes sense though and would explain my previous post where I was looking for the hole to put that shelf holder bar in!!
Great catch and I’ll fix it now!!
