Picked up an old broilmaster double grill today...

I think they are as close as you are ever going to get to the originals on yours, Josh. The "plain" black ones I already have look kind of bland vs. the two on eBay that also look pretty close to the originals. So, I will have to decide between having the right color or having a design that is very close to what Broilmaster used on many of their grills. Mine being a newer model apparently had the updated (for the time) look of black thermometers.

Yep it looks like your order came exactly like mine. Same style and same amount. I like them a lot. I think they're going to look really good on a freshly restored Black Grill.

You're very welcome Eric. Well I ordered an extra one of those and an extra Factory original one. On the left side the bigger cookbook side it fits perfectly on the right cook box side my shield is in pretty good shape but I wanted to spare so I'm going to cut the one I have like yours to match the smaller right side shield for a spare.

Looks good to me. On my later model, the heat shield on the oven side is integrated with the burner as one assembly. My original one is kind of rough, but I still might try to salvage it just to see. I picked up one of the clearance-sale last remaining new ones a while back. You probably won't be buying one of those after they sell out. I knew I would kick myself if I didn't get one.

For the flip up front table, how does that attach? Mine doesn't have one, but I'm considering fabricating something up and using some of my pine boards for it. We had a tornado come through the property back in 2008 that took out a lot of pine trees, most on them very large and 100 ish years old. Because of that we had a lot of them milled out and I keep pulling from the pile for projects. I know pine is soft, but I like using the wood that we milled and planed ourselves, it's satisfying. And it looks incredible being old growth wide planks PXL_20251014_194659911.jpg

I was looking for original broilmaster Factory shelf brackets from the same time period but haven't had any luck so I bought supplies to build my own brackets from scratch. I'm just analyzing the original bracket design and seeing how I can improve on it.

I have a pretty good idea of how I'm going to build my brackets but there might be a little bit of trial and error involved. I can show you what I come up with but I'm not sure that I'll get to it before you.

I'm thinking I'm not overly concerned with originality since a lot of the original parts are NLA and need replacing to keep the grill functioning. This may become a fun "resto mod" in the looks department because I think it'll be fun
