Performer Pickups - Fall 2024

I absolutely love this time of year. People are literally dumping their Webers in my area of Georgia as they doing their patio cleanups. I found a 2013 Performer (Blue) for $175. I replaced the grates and had a little fun with some oven cleaner and a plastic scraper and she is looking GREAT! This was about 3 weeks ago... I cooked on her and the more I thought about it, the more and more I was wanting the gas assist. Do I need it? No... Did I want it? Yes... This past Monday I was scrolling on Facebook and I saw the post... Weber for FREE. Those words always get my attention but when I saw the picture of the performer in the picture I initiated a message immediately. I was lucky enough to snag it and all it cost me was an afternoon trip through Atlanta traffic. She is a 2011 model and when I got her home I realized that the lid handle was a little warped (no big deal) and that the gas assist was not operational. I attempted to clean the gas assist with a wire brush and still no luck. I ended up ordering a new burner tube assembly from Weber and she fires right up. I will update photos but here is what I have so far. IMG_1015.jpgIMG_0812.jpgIMG_0762.jpgIMG_0761.jpgIMG_0760.jpg

Awesome find! They all look like they are in great condition. Gas assist is a great upgrade (I use mine every cook, even to start fires for other grills). However, that Blue kettle looks sweet.

That blue one looks fantastic! I have grabbed 3 performers, all 3 bronze, 3rd gens. They have all had rotted out bowls. I wonder if they had a bad run of bronze or if that is just my luck. My brother has a bronze 3rd gen that's been kept on a covered patio, and is in really nice shape still. Odd to me.

Yes ~ the blue cooker is in great shape. There are a couple of spots that the blue paint has either chipped or worn off but they are pretty much hidden underneath the table.

That simply does not happen around here! Must be the cheap sort around here that either hang on to them until they are totally shot or they want to sell fora stupid high dollar!
Good for you! Happy that someone got a good deal!

You may want to cover those spots with something to prevent future rust. I've used Testors Enamel model paint to conceal small chips pretty well on copper colored kettles (including the metallic fleck). The 0.25 oz. bottles come in good variety of colors (or mix your own) and seem to hold up to heat.

Great finds, and turn around, it is just me but i always update the lid bale to the newer year type that let's the lid stand up vertical, I beleive it was updated in the 2014-15 years. Other than that just a good cleaning a good for for it.
Enjoy your cooks.

This is my latest find a 2016 for 125. But it was very dirty, about like 5 plus years never cleaned. I too am waiting on a new ignition for this and a new cover.

That green performa looks nice 😊.
I’m digging the colored ones.
I had a chance to get a nice blue one at Ace Hardware when I was shopping for mine and thought I would save $20 on Amazon for a black one.
It came in without the gas assist.
Being a tightwad isn’t always the best practice.
