Is that the small white tank that goes with your performer? I had to special order that since Weber no longer carried it. It turns out that few will refill it either, too many people apparently didn't get the connection tight enough and a fire resulted. I think that's why they went with the camping canisters, or so I was told.

The tank is a 5 lb cylinder, good for about a 150 lightsd or so. you can Google it and there are a few places that still sell them new Cabelas for one.

I just bought a complete 1st edition Performer as you described, this weekend. It has the small tank (cute little guy) but the valve handle is broken off. Obviously they are problematic. Thanks for the tip on Cabelas. BTW it is too nice to part out (my original plan, what I told my wife, anyway) so I may re-sell it if there is interest. I like the Stainless Steel surfaces. Im in San Diego.

I just Googled the tank to see about the cost of a new one and you can get them from Amazon, and read the a company named Machester had good prices. From 49 bucks and up.

Conservatively you will get 150 starts from one of these, if I can get 25 to 40 starts from a screw on 28 OZ bottle 5 lb bottle will go a long way.
The good thing about the old SS and the newer models of these Weber grills is they built on a very simple concept. there is not a lot to go wrong, and are fairly easy to fix,and parts do not cost a arm or leg.
